Here's the thread to talk about our pets. I currently own a baby Bearded Dragon and I will be getting a pet Possum in the Spring. I'm pretty excited.

Possums are adorable!(But my mom doesn't think so.) We have a spoiled rotten little brat dog.(no, he's not a Chihuahua) He's a Shetland Sheepdog. And he begs CONSTANTLY.

Yeah, I know what a pain dogs can be. That's why I mostly stick with exotics (I've had lizards, birds, etc).

My cousin is getting a lizard, in addition to her psychotic Chihuahua Mindy(overprotective of my cousin- she barks at anyone who comes near), her Boxer Jasmine(who follows me around all the time, but then, she does that to everyone, I think) and her Shih Tzu Holly(my favorite of the dogs). What I really want is a guinea pig, but Mom won't let me get any kind of rodent. And to her, that includes rabbits. I probably can't get a lizard either.*wants an iguana*But no birds for me.

I gave up birds because they die pretty easily if conditions aren't just right. So, I bought my Bearded Dragon, then after a bit decided to get another pet. I did some online searching and that's how I came up with Possums.

There are a few kinds available, and I chose which one I'm getting (It's Ozzie and Heather's species).

What different species are there? I had no clue there was more than one.

There's the Short-tail Opossum, Mouse Opossum, and White-eared Opossum (Those are a couple of kinds I saw while searching the internet).

Yeah, the others are neat, but due to OTH, I'm sorta to the Virginia Opossum (Ozzie and Heather's species). I also learned that they don't actually sleep hanging by their tails.

I think it's a myth. I read that adult Opossums are too heay to do that for a long time.

It had to come from somewhere...do the babies do it? If they don't, then any idea where the idea came from?
